ABOUT
GATEWAY
A New Chapter in Raleigh’s urban story
Gateway Plaza is a 1960s mid-century retrofit that transforms a once dated plaza into a hopping community hub where Raleighites come to play, eat and connect. The property maintains its mod charm through adaptive reuse for its locally-owned businesses. With space for makers of all kinds, this is where it’s all happening.
At the corner of Crabtree and Capital Boulevard, adjacent to Raleigh’s thriving Woodcrest neighborhood, Gateway offers 80,000-square-feet of retail and creative office space. Through its thoughtful redevelopment, Gateway Plaza represents a new model for breathing life into aging commercial spaces—one that honors its architectural roots while embracing modern design and purpose.
OUR HISTORY
In 2019, Gateway Plaza’s transformation began. Northpond and LODEN Development saw the dated 1960s strip mall and imagined a revitalization that would transform it into a community-centered destination for local businesses and creative professionals.
-
The redesign of Gateway emphasizes adaptive reuse by preserving the original structure and modernizing the exterior. They added improved parking, and adapted the spaces for retail, coworking, and dining.
From pop-up markets and local art installations to seasonal events and neighborhood meetups, Gateway is where connections happen. Whether you’re a longtime resident or a first-time visitor, Gateway is ready to welcome you to what’s next.
